I think I might just let the title of this track speak for itself. This whole album (Almost Visible Orchestra [A.V.O.]) seems to be a combination of odd noises and sounds of a misbegotten youth. I feel like it would be suited to a whiskey on an introspective evening.
Here’s the new song by Bon Iver, off of the upcoming album 22, A Million. If this song is any indication of what to expect, well, it’s expect something quite different to the last couple albums. The less said the better. Have a listen:
Bon Iver – 33 “GOD”
This tune shuffled on today and seeing as it had the same title as the last song I posted, well I enjoyed that novelty so thought I’d put it up as a comparison. It’s these guys, you know, The Shins!
The Shins – Phantom Limb
Here be a tune by some friends of mine who have at long last released their album Full Moon Riding High. The opening track kicks off with sparkling mandolin notes before giving way to a dependable double bass bounce. Easily my favourite track off the album.
Cabin Fevre – Gospel Plow
Here’s a rather dreamy tune. It conjures the flow of a small stream, effortlessly pouring its way over pebbles and stones, glistening in the sunlight. Time is irrelevant. This place lives in dreams and memories.
Elephant – About Everything
You’re in for a delight today. Seeing as it’s friday, I’ve pulled out a special track that I’m sure will make you feel like you’re whisking your way down the canals of Venice. I challenge you not to imagine that now, while listening to this track. What a jolly little number this is, and hey, it’s got an accordion!
Sweet Cacophony – Wind, Sand & Stars
It’s amazing how you can be in a routine for a couple months then straight up forget it. Case in point, here is yesterdays song. As made famous by that unsatisfying second season of True Detective. At least there was a silver lining…
Lera Lynn – Lately
